If appropriate, your GP will refer you to an NHS or Private provider either through our electronic dictation software or by referral form.
We operate a Referral Support Scheme where non-urgent referrals are discussed confidentially with other GP’s at the Practice before they are sent onto the hospital. Sometimes, a more effective approach is found after clinical discussion and a long wait for hospital care can be avoided. You will be contacted after the meeting if an improved plan is developed. This process should not result in any significant delay in your referral.
NHS e-Referral Service (Choose & Book)
Following referral to a hospital or clinic through this service, you can book your own appointment online. In some cases, you’ll have more than 1 clinic or hospital to choose from.
Your booking letter will include a booking reference number and a password or access code.
