Same day service – telephone call-back first

Phone us on the day you would like your problem to be sorted - (you must be available to be seen face to face if appropriate)


  • Telephone us on 01926 857331, option 2 to speak to the Reception Team who will allocate you a telephone appointment. Our telephone lines open at 08:00.   
  • Our clinical team includes Doctors, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Associates and Clinical Pharmacists. The Reception Team will ask you the clinical nature of your call so your problem can be dealt with by the most appropriate member of the team.  
  • Book your telephone slot via “Patient Access” from 20:00 the night before. 



In order to create an online appointment list, we have to use times but this is NOT the time you will be called.

This is something we cannot change so please do not expect to be called at the time you've booked.

Morning telephone calls are made between 08:00 & 13:00

Afternoon telephone call are made between 14:00 & 19:00


The clinician of your choice will phone you back and will offer you a face to face appointment on the same day if it is appropriate.

From 16:30 the reception team are only able to book urgent telephone calls.

Please note we can only book on the day - you may be asked to phone another day if you need a specific clinician or we are up to capacity

Nurses & Healthcare Assistants

Spirometry appointments

Full reversibility is:

Phlebotomy (blood tests)

These appointments can be booked in advance by telephone only or by calling into the surgery to speak to a member of our Reception Team. Please telephone 01926 857331, option 2.

You will be asked the clinical reason for your appointment so the correct clinician and time slot is booked.

Blood Test Forms

When your clinician indicates a blood test is necessary, they will generate a blood form on your medical records which will be printed on the day of your appointment.

If you have a chronic disease invitation letter, you can book your blood test without a form

If you wish to have a blood test elsewhere, please ask Reception to print off your blood form.

Home Visits

Home Visits can be booked for urgent medical problems, when you are too ill to leave home, or for housebound patients who never leave home and have chronic conditions that require monitoring.

Whenever possible, please request a visit before 10.30am

The receptionist will take a contact number and book a telephone call back with an appropriate doctor. Once you have spoken with the doctor on the telephone, if a visit is required, arrangements will be made during this phone call.

Visits are carried out by most of our doctors who will prioritise the visits on clinical grounds, seeing the most urgent cases first.

Please note visits should not be requested because you have no means of transport to the surgery.

Cancellations & Reminders

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.

Late For Your Appointment

Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late it may not be possible for you to be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day-except in the event of an medical emergency that requires immediate attention.


If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and she will arrange this for you.

The Castle Medical Centre also offers one late surgery from 18:30 – 20:00 on Monday evening.

The GP+ HUB is open from 18:30 – 21:00 Monday, Wednesday & Thursday & Saturday 09:00 – 12:00
